自宅から代官山までタクシーに乗ったんです。見慣れない会社のタクシーだなあ、と思いながら今日訪問するところを先日購入してしまったMacBook Airでチェックしていると、運転手さんが「ちょっと一本電話をしてもよろしいですか」との事。どうぞどうぞと返答すると、

ヘッドセット越しに流暢な英語で話し始めたのです。ホテルのリザベーションで聞く単語がズラリ。

お話を聞くとあまりに濃い会話が進行したので要点を箇条書きすると：

・今の電話はNYからのダイレクトな予約電話
・クチコミを効果的に使い、乗車いただいた海外のお客様には名刺をお渡ししているそう
・予約は電話もしくはメールで世界のどこからでも、24時間対応している
・たとえばアーティストが重い荷物を大量に運びたいというオーダーにも対応できる
・そもそも運転手さんは専業ではなく、元々大手商社勤務で月の一週間程度はそちらに在籍している
・役所の認可も降りたのでそうした柔軟なタクシーの運用と安い価格を実現できている
・個人のblog、twitter（両方とも英語／日本語別アカウント）で利用者と交流をはかっている
・今年からはfacebookも入れて日・英・中・伊語で外国旅行者に積極的にアプローチしたい
・日本には海外観光客が年750万人。フランスは1億人。できることからキャズムを超えたい

…いや、恐れ入りました。気づいている人は気づいている「今なりのやり方」。とても21世紀的なタクシー体験でした。
